Makeup Mirrors – Tips for choosing the right makeup mirrors for your bathroom
Makeup mirrors are a must for anyone applying any type of facial product to their body. To be sure, you can always tell someone who has a good mirror with good lighting and someone who doesn’t have a good mirror. Common symptoms of someone who does not have a proper makeup mirror include eye shadows and liners that are not blended properly, areas of missing foundation and the dreaded makeup line. No one wants to look like they have a 3-inch-thick mask of makeup they put on every morning, so it always surprises me when people don’t take the time and effort to get a good mirror.
There are many different types of makeup mirrors on the market today, and some are definitely better than others. In my expert opinion, the best makeup mirrors have two different sides that can be flipped, depending on your needs. The first side shows your face as it really is, while the other side enlarges your face at least twice from its normal size. Having one side magnified is essential when it comes to detailing in your makeup. Let’s be honest, good makeup is all in the details. The magnifying side is great for applying eye makeup, and can be your best friend when you’re blending one shade into another color.
It is best to use the normal size side of a good makeup mirror to look at the face as a whole. You can use this side to make sure there is no baseline or the blush is not too harsh. It is also important that the makeup mirror is not distorted at all. Even if the mirror is the slightest bit concave or convex, it can make a huge difference to the overall result of your application.
